Waynetown, March 13 – Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hesler, wife of Alvah Hesler, died at her home four miles southwest of Waynetown Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock following an illness of four months. Complications caused her death. Mrs. Hesler had lived in the Waynetown community for the past 40 years.  Mrs. Hesler was born south of Hillsboro on Dec 29, 1855 a daughter of George W. and Martha Purnell Ellis. She was married to Alvah Hesler on Dec 13, 1878. She was a member of the Ingersoll Chapel Christian Church.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hesler is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Alva Dwiggins, Pasadena, Calif; and Mrs. John Bruner of Crawfordsville; three sons Harry and James of Crawfordsville and Forest of Hillsboro, one sister, Mrs. Nancy Hughes of Waynetown and one brother, CC Ellis of Hillsboro and 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Ingersoll Chapel near her home and will be in charge of Rev. HG Davis, Indianapolis. Interment will take place in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. - kbz
